Rockfire Theatre presents "Failure: A Love Story" by Philip Dawkins
Nelly was the first of the Fail girls to die,
followed soon after by her sisters, Jenny June
and Gerty Fail
in that order.
In this charming and wistful play, the Fail family inhabits a clock shop in 1928 Chicago where overgrown snakes sip coffee, grandfather clocks never run backward, and women swim through the air on office chairs.
When the least likely person enters the "Fail Clock Works, Est. 1900: Open" one day, tragic and beautiful events are set in motion - the Fail sisters won't survive 1928, but the love they find will endure for years to come.
